Cleaning out all my paperbacks and found this great book. This is one of those misunderstanding between two young sweethearts. Each one has felt like their heart has been stepped on for no reason whatsoever. Her grandfather had received 1M$ from the lottery, then dies, leaving Jennifer the money and the farm. The one thing that is now getting them together is that Luke, the sheriff of the town, ends up at Jennifer's grandfather's farm while driving in an ice storm. Then, comes the truth.....

In this third installment in the Millionaire, Montana series, Jennifer Faulkner inherits her grandfather's share of the jackpot. As a child, Jennifer spent summers and holidays with her grandparents but has not been back for ten years. On her first day back in Jester, Jennifer literally runs into the love of her life, Sheriff Luke McNeil. Each believes the other dumped them ten years ago. Can they work out their differences and rekindle their love?
This is the best book in the series so far. The relationship between Jennifer and Luke sizzles. Luke's sister Vicki is a good secondary character who never gives up on trying to reunited her close friend with her brother.

Note Stands alone read. 3rd in the 12-book, multi-author series, Millionaire, Montana which revolves around 12 residents of small town of Jasper, who share a multimillion dollar jackpot.
GOOD READ! Well written, likable characters, great supporting cast, appealing plot that uses simple, ordinary, everyday events to enhance the storyline. HOWEVER, for two people who were supposedly deeply in love, the mix up over who dumped whom, doesn't ring true.
THE STORY revolves around Jennifer Faulkner. Growing up with absentee parents, Jenny's life centers around her grandparents and her best friends, brother and sister, Luke and Vickie McNeil. That is, until the day Grandma Dolly dies and Grandpa Henry abruptly throws her out. Heartbroken, she entrusts him with a letter to then fiancé, Luke, and leaves. When she doesn't hear from Luke and apparently doesn't contact him, each believes the other broke it off.
Ten years pass and Jenny is notified of Grandpa Henry's death and her million dollar inheritance. She returns to Jasper to wrap up his estate, but more importantly, she returns in hopes of finding out why her Grandpa cut all ties, and why Sheriff Luke McNeil dumped her. While Luke also wants an explanation, his sister Vickie, just intends to push, connive, trick, and otherwise maneuver them back together, which makes for an engaging romance.
OVERALL, a sentimental, endearing, story about family, love, loss, and extreme grief.
You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, L. L. Miller, and R. C. Ryan. For sweet, funny, romances with great descriptive imagery and heart touching angst, try Susan Fox, Cara Colter, and E. Palfrey.
